Arbitration Board upheld the fines given to Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe



The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Arbitration Board approved the fines given by the Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK) to Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray.


The decisions taken by the Arbitration Board are as follows:


“-Fenerbahçe Futbol A.Ş.’s objection to the decision of the Professional Football Disciplinary Committee dated 10.02.2022 and numbered E.2021-2022/625 – K.2021-2022/737 was examined. As a result of the negotiation, Fenerbahçe Futbol A.Ş. Ş. was penalized with a fine of 50.000.00 TL in accordance with Article 53/2 of the Football Discipline Order, due to the ugly and bad cheering by his supporters, and because this action was carried out for the second time in the match in which he was the host club in the same season. Since it was understood that there was no misconduct in terms of the determination of the penalty, the application was rejected and the penalty was approved unanimously.


-The objection of Galatasaray Sportif Sınai ve Ticaret Yatırımlar A.Ş. to the decision of the Professional Football Disciplinary Board dated 17.02.2022 and numbered E.2021-2022/690 – K.2021-2022/784 has been examined. As a result of the negotiation;


– 53/3 of the Football Discipline Order, due to the ugly and bad cheers made by the supporters of Galatasaray Sportif Sınai ve Ticaret Yatırımlar A.Ş. Pursuant to the article, the spectators in the North Tribune 206, 207, 106, 107, South Tribune 119, 120 West Tribune 125, 124, 101, 102 blocks, which make ugly and bad cheers, are allowed to enter the competition in which they become the next host club by blocking their electronic ticket cards. Since it has been understood that there is no wrongdoing in the decision to prevent the application, legal qualification and determination of the penalty, the application is rejected and the penalty is approved, unanimously,


– Due to the field incidents caused by the supporters of Galatasaray Sportif Sınai ve Ticaret Yatırımlar A.Ş., 52/2 of the Football Discipline Order. Since it was understood that there was no wrongdoing in the punishment of 32,000,00 TL in terms of the legal qualification and the determination of the penalty, the application was rejected and the penalty was approved unanimously,


– Due to the fact that the flash interviews of Galatasaray Sportif Sınai ve Ticaret Yatırımlar A.Ş. to be made after the competition were not completed within 30 minutes, the Super League and TFF 1st League Publication Instructions were published on 8/13. Since it was understood that there was no wrongdoing in terms of evidence, legal qualification and determination of the penalty, it was decided that the application be rejected and the sentence be upheld, unanimously.
