How did the company come about?
Carlos Araujo’s grandfather, the current owner of our winery, was an authentic Mendoza native, born in Costa de Araujo, north of Mendoza.
Carlos, inspired by an ancestral calling, felt the need to return to his family roots. The history of Bodega Araujo takes shape around the year 2001, when we acquired the first properties in the Villa Atuel region, in San Rafael, south of the province of Mendoza.
It was at this time that we began to plant the first vineyards that, today, are the essence of the production of our wines, along with the recovery of old vineyards. Our family, originally from Rosario, province of Santa Fe, decided to seek new horizons in Mendoza, with the firm intention of reestablishing the family bond.
From the beginning we work in tune with our environment, paying attention to every detail of the process. We are creators of love for our land, honoring our history by producing the best wine possible. Our passion lies in creating a pure and fantastic product, with respect for the community we create and to which we belong. We are committed to the art of making exceptional wines that transmit the essence of our land and the tradition that we carry in our roots.
What are the services you provide?
We are wine, plum and livestock producers.
How do you project your brand in the medium term?
We have been growing a lot since 2017. From volumes of boxes sold and region coverage. We started selling only in San Rafael and Rosario. Today we sell throughout the country. We started exporting only to one destination in Europe and today we export to 20 countries around the world. And all this is thanks to the triple impact model we have, which makes our customers quickly empathize with the purpose and the brand.
What differentiates you from the competition?
Our triple impact model. Social, environmental and economic. We work with certifications. Like Company B, organic, vegan, etc. All this makes our clients locally and internationally trust us.
If you started over, what would you do differently?
Face the triple impact model from scratch. We started in 2009 with the winery, in 2003 with the vineyards and only in 2017 did we make the decision to get into this new business paradigm. On the other hand, I would not change anything since everything was learning, each of the obstacles made us who we are today. But if I had to say one thing, it would be some commercial strategies from a year ago, which made us go through some bad times.
