“A&R Academy”: Sony Music will start training for A&R managers from September 2022

From September 2022, Sony Music will train new so-called “Artists and Repertoire” managers in the second A&R Academy. This vocational training is aimed at people who have a sense of musical talent and love to look for promising artists or bands.

The A&R Academy lasts twelve months and is paid. It is said to be an exclusive initiative aimed at finding, developing and nurturing future A&R talent. The training program is intended to prepare the participants for their work as A&R managers in the music industry. A later permanent position is planned, it is said.

Passion and motivation have the highest priority

This year, starting in September 2022, four traineeships are available for the program, including one at Sony Music Switzerland. The main focus is on (German) rap. The other three traineeships take place in Berlin. These are divided into the genres rock, metal, rap, German pop and Schlager.
