“Surprised even myself”

Iltalehti reached out Toni Wirtanen to comment on the matter. The musician himself had read about the chart positions of his albums on social media.

– Well, that’s when we make such bad music these days. The gang buys these old ones then, the musician reflects.

Wirtanen says that album sales success in itself is not a new thing for the band.

– Of course this is double control, it’s completely new to me as well. That’s great, he rejoices.

He clarifies that on the single side, Apulanta has once dominated the top three, but in the past there has only been one album at the top of the album chart.

– We live in special times, that’s all you can say. Yes, I surprised myself.

The sales numbers of Apulanna’s old albums, which recently performed to a full Olympic Stadium, are also explained by the newly released remakes. Remasterings have also been released from the albums Unbroken (1996) and Three (1997).

Remastered vinyl editions of the albums will also be released at the end of the year Heinola 10 and Help (English!). There will also be new music when A product like a soul album will be released in October.

In July, Apulanta played to more than 37,000 people at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium. AOP
