Appropriately weak Sudosa-Desto searches for form. Chances of competing for the national title are almost gone

For the third time in a row, Visser Assen/Sudosa-Desto lost in the A-pool. Friso Sneek was too strong with 3-0. As a result, the chance to qualify directly for the semi-finals of the national championship is almost lost.

To have a serious chance against national champion Sneek, the women of Sudosa-Desto must play at the top of their abilities. Only since the competition has entered the decisive phase, the form of the team from Assen has been lacking.

Painful defeat

“Fair enough, we conceded too many runs,” said coach Mark Afman. “That just has to be much better. Now we kept fighting back in the first two sets, but that was not enough to have a serious chance of winning a set.”

Afman’s team came back from a 14-6 deficit in the opening set to 23-22, after which the Frisians won 25-23. The second passage went to Sneek with 25-20. Sudosa-Desto’s resistance was thus definitively broken. The third set ended in a painful 25-11 defeat.

‘Three games to regain our form’

“It increasingly seems that we are taking the ‘long’ route (numbers three and four of the A-pool play an extra round against the second best teams of the B-pool for a place in the semi-finals). have to place. It means we still have three games to find our form again.”
