Appointment of two new members of the Council for the Judiciary | News item

Two new members will be appointed for the Council for the Judiciary. The Council of Ministers has approved their nomination at the proposal of Minister Weerwind for Legal Protection.

The new member Calluna Euving will have Information Technology and Human Resources in her portfolio. In recent years she has been Secretary of the University (general director) at the University of Amsterdam. Prior to that, Euving worked as director of finance and operations for former British Prime Minister Tony Blair mediating the peace process in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Her appointment will take effect on October 30, 2023.

The other new member of the Council for the Judiciary is Adrie Kerkvliet. He gets finances and housing in his portfolio. In recent years he was general manager of the Audit Service of the Ministry of Finance. Previously, he was director of research at the Audit Service and program director of the reorganization of governance of central government operations at the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. His appointment will take effect on October 2, 2023.

The new members succeed Peter Arnoldus and Herma Rappa-Velt.
