Gita Salden (1968) joins the board of De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB). Salden is currently CEO of BNG Bank. In her new position as board member, she will be responsible for the Supervision of Pension Funds and Insurers and Supervision of Functions and Integrity. The appointment takes effect on June 1, 2024 and is valid for a period of 7 years.
On the recommendation of the DNB supervisory board, Minister Van Weyenberg of Finance nominated Salden for appointment as director of DNB. She takes over the portfolio from Else Bos, who announced in September that she would be leaving to pursue her career in a different way.
Gita Salden has extensive substantive and long-term experience in the financial markets sector. Recently as a director of BNG Bank and before that as Director of Financial Markets and Deputy Treasurer General at the Ministry of Finance. She worked here for more than twenty years. Salden studied Economics at Erasmus University in Rotterdam.
The DNB supervisory board has requested an exception to the WNT. The Minister of Finance and the State Secretary for the Interior and Kingdom Relations have decided, after consideration in the Council of Ministers, to grant this request because of the required knowledge and experience that Salden has.
