Jan-Kees Goet becomes director of ABDTOPConsult at the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. The Council of Ministers agreed to this on the proposal of Minister Rijkaart of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. The appointment takes effect on December 11, 2025.

ABDTOPConsult is a small advisory group of experienced top civil servants who can be quickly deployed to complex issues at the top of the government. They conduct research, provide advice and can be deployed in interim positions. From an independent position, ABDTOPConsult strives for sustainable and implementable policy, good governance and improved services for society.

The director of ABDTOPConsult leads the team of consultants – he is their coach and stimulates their development – he is ultimately responsible and a figurehead. The director manages the integral assignment portfolio: the entire process from intake to matching team members to assignments takes place under his supervision. The director also monitors the quality of the execution of the assignments. Practice what you preach is paramount: the director is also a consultant on complex social issues at the top of the government.

Drs. JC (Jan-Kees) Goet has been Secretary General at the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, now Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature, for the past seven years. Previously, he was Director General of Migration at the Ministry of Security and Justice, chairman of the board at the Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers and deputy and acting head of the General Intelligence and Security Service. Jan-Kees Goet studied Educational Sciences at Leiden University.

This appointment was made through the procedure for the top management group of the General Administrative Service. Directorate General General Administrative Service carried out the recruitment for this appointment and supported ABDTOPConsult in the selection. As usual, the vacancy was widely advertised so that everyone could apply.
