Mrs. H. (Huri) Sahin will be the new mayor of the municipality of Rijswijk. At the proposal of Minister Bruins Slot of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, the Council of Ministers has decided to nominate her for appointment. The appointment will take effect on December 12, 2022.

Ms. Sahin (47 years old) is currently director of the Local Rotterdam Foundation and chair of the Children’s Rights Collective.
Bas Verkerk (VVD) is currently acting mayor of Rijswijk.
