Mr. WHJM (Hein) Van der Loo will be the new mayor of the municipality of Almere. At the proposal of Minister Bruins Slot of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, the Council of Ministers has decided to nominate him for appointment. The appointment will take effect on March 8, 2023.

Mr Van der Loo (51 years old) is not a member of a political party. He is currently mayor of the municipality of Zwijndrecht.
Ank Bijleveld is currently acting mayor of Almere.
