drs. PMM (Pascalle) Grotenhuis will be Director-General for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Council of Ministers has approved the nomination on the proposal of Minister Bruins Slot of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. The appointment will take effect in mid-2023.

Pascalle Grotenhuis has been director of Social Development and ambassador for Gender Equality and Women’s Rights at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2020. Since 2001, she has held various positions within DG International Cooperation. For example, she was an ambassador in Mozambique and an MT member of the Sustainable Economic Development department. She was also director of Protocol and Host Country Affairs and worked at the embassy in London.

She studied Development Studies at the Center for International Development of the Catholic University of Nijmegen.

This appointment was made through the procedure for the top management group of the General Administrative Service.
