MR (Mark) de Boer becomes deputy secretary general (pSG) at the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK). The Council of Ministers has approved the nomination on the proposal of Minister Bruins Slot of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. The appointment will take effect on June 13, 2022.

The function of pSG in the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations is an administrative role and can be divided into two primary areas of attention. The pSG is the (delegated) owner of the BZK implementing organizations assigned to it. He is also charged with the management of the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations and acts as a deputy to the SG.

Mark de Boer has been acting cluster director for People and Resources since 2020 and also acting cluster director for Administrative Support at the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. After studying Communications, he started working for the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations in 2002 and subsequently worked for the National Coordinator for Counterterrorism and Security. Between 2009 and 2019, he held various directorships at the municipalities of Rotterdam, Utrecht and Amsterdam.

This appointment was made on the basis of the procedure for the top management group of the General Administrative Service.
