At the proposal of Minister Hoekstra of Foreign Affairs, the Council of Ministers has approved the appointment of Prof. Janne E. Nijman as a member of the Advisory Council on International Affairs. The appointment will take effect on January 1, 2023 and will be for a period of four years.
Janne Nijman is professor of the history and theory of international law at the University of Amsterdam and professor of international law at The Geneva Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva.
The Advisory Council on International Affairs is an independent advisory body that advises the government and the States General on foreign policy, in particular with regard to human rights, peace and security, development cooperation and European integration.
