In many households, the premium of 100 euros was already automatically distributed via the energy supplier via a discount on the advance bill.

Persons who have not received the premium must submit an application. You can do this until November 15 via the website of the FPS Economy. If you have any questions, you can go to the call center, where about 100 people work. The minister came to thank the staff for their efforts and answered two phone calls himself to find out what questions concerned citizens have.

“We are going to need these people for a while, because we provide enough time to register and process the applications. Quite a few people drop out and it is very important to us that everyone who is entitled to that premium can effectively get,” says Van der Straeten.

Just over a third of the 100 or so employees in the call center work daily on requests for the heating premium, the remainder answer requests for the heating oil premium, because it is not automatically processed by the suppliers. The heating premium has already been automatically implemented for 4.1 million households. In addition, 240,000 applications have already been received by the FPS Economy and 100,000 have already been processed. Just over 600,000 applications have already been received for the fuel oil premium.

“About 45 new employees are coming for a period of 6 months to ensure that the roll-out of all the federal government’s energy measures runs smoothly. I want everyone who is entitled to the energy support to receive them in time this winter. of the high energy prices, every gesture, every premium counts,” concludes Van der Straeten.
