Apple postpones return to office due to rising corona figures | Economy

Apple is postponing the return to the office for employees because the number of corona infections has risen again recently. Staff would actually be required to come to the office three days a week from next week, but that requirement has been shelved for the time being.

For Apple employees, this means that they will still only have to physically show up at work twice a week. In a message to staff, Apple also said employees will again have to wear masks in common areas, at least in Silicon Valley offices. That obligation is also reflected in staff in about 100 American stores of Apple.

The company’s steps behind the iPhone and iPad are related to an uptick in the number of corona infections in the United States. But it’s also known that not all Apple employees were happy with their employer’s intended return to the office.

Complaints were made, among other things, that Apple’s plan would be bad for productivity. For example, some employees have stated that their commute time takes away hours that they could otherwise have spent on work.
