Apple now indicates that it will launch an electric car with more limited functions. The launch of the car will also be postponed until 2028 at the earliest, reports Bloomberg news agency on the authority of insiders. An Apple spokeswoman declined to comment on the report.
Apple’s plans to build a car are among the most ambitious and tumultuous in its history. Since the project began taking shape in 2014, several executives have come and gone. There have been multiple rounds of layoffs, strategy changes and numerous delays.
Still, the car continues to hold great potential for Apple, as it could revive the company’s sales growth. Apple saw sales stagnate last year, due to a mature smartphone industry and an economic slowdown in China, its most important foreign market.
