Appearance with daughters Lourdes and Mercy

Madonna began her “The Celebration Tour” in London on October 14th. She was also supported by her family – including her daughters Lourdes and Mercy. The former even celebrated her 27th birthday that evening.

Lourdes Leon just released her own song “Spelling” a few days ago – but there was no musical duet for the audience with her mother Madonna. Instead, the two sat on chairs and judged their crew’s voguing on the runway. The interlude, which took place during the band’s “Ballroom” and the song “Vogue”, was also intended as a tribute to the LGBTQIA scene of the 1970s. Ballroom visuals and images of the legendary Stonewall Inn were also shown on the screens.

Later, pictures of Madonna’s deceased friends and acquaintances who died due to AIDS were also shown.

Mercy James on “Bad Girl” on piano

Shortly beforehand, 17-year-old daughter Mercy James appeared on stage. She came out of the ground with her piano and proved that she too has great musical talent. Her piano piece introduced “Bad Girl” – Madonna had not played this song live since 1993.

In total, the 65-year-old played 28 songs from her back catalog, including her 1983 hit “Holiday,” the James Bond song “Die Another Day” and “Little Star,” which she dedicated to her daughter Lourdes. Her hit “Music”, however, did not make it onto the comprehensive setlist; like some of Madonna’s other hits, it was only played on tape.
