TO Milan and beyond, when it comes to aperitif time, the choice is wide and rich. From terraces with views to secret gardens in the shade, up to a jump on the seashore.
Pan EVO terrace
Piazza della Repubblica, in Milan, is a noble business area, not a place of great hustle and bustle. So who chooses the PanEVO Terrace of the five-star Westin Palace from aperitif time you can really imagine being elsewhere on holiday, in the open air, especially since the PanEvo has its own independent access via a dedicated external lift. Hanging garden that smells of jasmine and aromatic herbs, relaxing design seats… Brand new: the space has just been renovated by the Reveria studio.
Mediterranean flavors
Throughout the summer (and beyond) the location is ideal for elegant al fresco dinners, aperitifs with bites and great cocktails. Natural flavors and seasonal ingredients in the culinary proposals of the Executive Chef Moris La Greca. From seafood platters and raw fish to beef carpacciodressing of salted Cantabrian anchovies and artichoke salad, withPea hummus, pita bread and Dolce Agogia “Centumbrie” oil. For dinner, very pleasant menus. With an eye to the regional tradition that rewards yellow risotto and ossobuco, and the real schnitzel. Among the desserts, we point out the Cherry parfait, chestnut honey mousse and basil sorbet. deserves!
Terrazza PanEVO is open every evening from 7 to 11 pm, at The Westin Palace, Piazza della Repubblica 20, Milan. https://www.panevorestaurant.com/it/terrazza-panevo
My Lab Bar
July, in Milan, is hot. So the bar Mio Lab by Park Hyatt Milano dresses in Capri theme and, to refresh his guests, he “refreshes” their memory by projecting clips from the most iconic films of Italian cinema, filmed in the suggestive locations of Capri, the Amalfi Coast and beyond.
Cocktails with the stars
Totò, Sophia Loren, Marcello Mastroianni, Silvana Mangano, Eduardo de Filippo… with whom you can also sip the two new cocktails: 50 Specialsa Collins made with saffron flavored gin, lemon, rosemary syrup, almond bitters and soda. And Faraglioni, a sparkling drink inspired by the three rock formations located southeast of the island of Capri, famous all over the world. A cocktail based on Campari, raspberry, vanilla and Franciacorta. The reference to the atmosphere of Capri – perfume and décor included – starts from the facade and from the entrance of the hotel, the common areas which include The Dome Lounge and the cocktail bar Mio Lab. Lots of blue, bougainvillea and citrus. It seems to be facing the sea. https://www.hyatt.com/en-US/hotel/italy/park-hyatt-milan/milph/dining
From Berti
Historic place, all Milanese. The restaurant of the mid-nineteenth century, born as a post station, it is now found close to the skyscrapers of Porta Nuova but continues to respect the Milanese tradition. Of course, it has grown in the spaces, between ancient and modern, and boasts a large veranda with dehors and a pergola overlooking the garden, where you can now start the evening with an aperitif and finger foods. Then, perhaps, always outdoors, you can dine with the new menu, signed by Resident Chef Fabio Carotenuto, which starts with starters such as English Roast-beef with smoked provola emulsion and Catalana “da Berti” with strips of chicken, camone tomato, melon, apple, fennel, celery and mixed salad. A great classic is a must: Risotto alla Milanese with saffron pistils.

Principe Coffee (Forte dei Marmi)
Classics for several generations: fruit tartlets and “maritozzi” for breakfast, bread rolls and savory croissants for an aperitif or bistro snack. Reopens, rethought since Prada groupan iconic locale of Forte dei Marmi: the Caffè Principe, pastry bar on via Carducci, at 2, next to the Prada boutique, where over the years sitting down and (also) enjoying the walk and the view of the Fortino in the heart of the Versilian town had become a ritual. The project, in collaboration with the Florentine architect Michele Bonan, is respectful of the identity of this historic café. It evokes the original furnishings dating back to the 1950s, from chandeliers to seating for the outdoor area, from formica tables to wicker armchairs. With an extra sophisticated touch: today the property is Marchesi 1824, Prada Group.
