More houses need to be built in Zoetermeer, so every nook and cranny in the city will be filled with new homes. Office buildings are being demolished or renovated and the last undeveloped plots of land are now or later filled with apartment buildings and single-family homes. If you’re not paying attention, there’s suddenly another building or a new street.

Oosterheem
In the Stromenbuurt in the Oosterheem district there are still a few vacant lots on which new homes are being built. Several apartment buildings and terraced houses are rising up opposite the HSL line. Villas, semi-detached houses, terraced houses and apartments are appearing near the DSO football club.
Palenstein
You will not recognize the Palenstein district in a year’s time. Condominiums have given way to single-family homes and apartments. From the Du Meelaan you have a view of a large construction site full of construction machines, workmen, construction chain and materials.
Rokkeveen
A new apartment complex with social rental homes is being built on the Paletsingel in Rokkeveen. Across the street, a similar new-build project is under construction on the site of a demolished farm. A complete metamorphosis for a small piece of Zoetermeer.
Centre
An office building on Luxemburglaan has been demolished. A large gaping hole, visible from the Europaweg, is the result. After the rubble has been cleared, the construction of an apartment building will start.
