Apartment fire in Hohenschönhausen – 25 people evacuated

On Wednesday evening, an apartment fire on Biesenbrower Strasse triggered a large-scale operation by the Berlin fire brigade.

The fire broke out around 8 p.m. in a fifth-floor apartment. According to initial information, one person was injured. The cause of the fire is still unclear.

Because of the heavy smoke, 25 residents of the house had to be evacuated – including children. Local residents were taken care of in an evacuation bus.

The fire brigade was on site with 70 emergency services. Briesower Strasse had to be completely closed.
