Apache 207’s GARTENSTADT landed at number 1 in the German album charts

This puts the 25-year-old from Ludwigshafen ahead of Niall Horan, who released his record THE SHOW.

GARTENSTADT, the new album by Apache 207, was released on June 9th. The fact that the rapper from Ludwigshafen enjoys commercial success with his projects is not new. His current record is no exception, because with GARTENSTADT Volkan Yaman, as Apache is called in civil society, climbs to number 1 in the German album charts a. That puts him ahead of One Direction member Niall Horan’s THE SHOW, who takes 2nd place.

Over the 42-minute running time, the 25-year-old mixes a wide variety of musical influences – R’n’B, HipHop, Eurodance, to name a few – to create his own pop sound. Lyrically, Apache shows a vulnerable side: he sings about heartbreaks and his difficult childhood. The single “Komet”, in which Udo Lindenberg participated, has been in the single charts for 20 weeks, where it currently occupies second place.

“To be honest, it’s a bit all over the place, and not entirely original either, but downright ideal for a long car or scooter ride in the summer evening,” says ME author Anastasia Rutkowski in her review. The three and a half out of six possible stars in MUSIKEXPRESS didn’t seem to detract from the record’s mainstream appeal.
