ANWB traffic jam top 10 of 2023: this is how Zoetermeer scores

If you leave Zoetermeer during rush hour, you run the risk of running into a traffic jam. It not only looks busier on the road, it is true. That appears from the most recent traffic jam figures from the ANWB.

ANWB: “The severity of traffic jams (length x duration of traffic jams) on Dutch roads has increased considerably. In the first six months of 2023, traffic jams increased by 15 percent compared to the same period in the pre-corona year 2019. Daily traffic jams immediately returned after the last corona measures were withdrawn at the end of March last year.”

Traffic jams around Zoetermeer

We cannot ignore it, literally and figuratively: the N206, between Zoetermeer and Katwijk, is in the ANWB traffic jam top 10 – 2023. We have the dubious honor of being in third place on the list of N-roads when it comes to traffic congestion. I

Traffic jam top 10 – N-roads

In Zoetermeer we are fortunate that we do not appear in the general top 10 heaviest traffic jams in the Netherlands. Yet we suffer from stationary traffic on N-roads around our city. In fact, we are number three in the top 10 of heaviest traffic jams on N-roads. This concerns the road section near Leiden. In 2019, the N206 was still in first place in the top 10, so we have fallen three places. Below you will find the complete list:
