Teemu Laajasalon in the novelty book A new beginning – Life in a changing world Well-known Finns (Kirjapaja) talk about the effects of the corona pandemic on their lives. One of the interviewees in the book is Antti tuisku.
The giants moved on
In the book, Tuisku tells of how the pandemic hit him at a time when he had to prepare for the biggest concert events of his career. The intention was that Tuisku would have performed in August 2020 at two gigs at the Olympic Stadium. It happened differently.
– The realization that the pandemic is not going to go away right away paralyzed me for a few weeks and I was extremely anxious and sad. Because at the same time I realized that there are now and always will be things in life and in the world that I cannot influence myself, I started to focus more energy on what I can do myself, Tuisku states in the book.
Gradually, the gloomy thoughts shifted from the artist’s point of view.
– When I gave up things related to live gigs and focused on creating something new, I got a grip on life again and the future started to look brighter, he states in the book.
Now, two years later, Tuisku says he has grown tougher and more aware of his own resources.
– Our current society relies heavily on the focus of recommendation, where people are easily left in a squirrel wheel where they are unable or simply do not have time to think about what they really want out of life. These themes have played a big role in the lives of both me and my loved ones lately, Tuisku says in the book.
Antti Tuisku’s giggles are finally scheduled to take place next summer at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium.
