The look of a wealthy gentleman. I saw myself as a geriatric model Antti Kauppinen44, describes her appearance and what the fashion world wants from her.

Exactly one year ago, the founder of The Sisterhood modeling agency Jasmin Islamovic asked Kauppinen if he would be interested in modeling. Despite the Korona era, Kauppinen has now been seen in Gucci’s show and on the pages of an international fashion magazine.

Once upon a time, about 25 years ago, Kauppinen was seen on the fashion stage a couple of times when friends were studying the fashion industry and Kauppinen presented their creations. Gucci’s recent show in Milan was Kauppinen’s first contact with fashion weeks and going to the big fashion world. Islamovic is to be thanked for everything.

– Jasmin would deserve an export award! She has received many Finnish models for pictures and screenings of large fashion houses around the world, Kauppinen says.

Kauppinen first flew to Milan a week before the show, when his show look was confirmed. Gucci’s creative director Alessando Michele definitely wanted Kauppinen to join.

Kauppinen is working as a coordinator for a day job at the City of Helsinki Art Museum. Due to the prevailing corona situation in the city, there have been transfers to the war and upbringing side, so he too is currently working in the playground. From there, he got a couple of days free for the show and flew back to Milan the day before the fashion spectacle.

Feel like a big fashion party

Every day, the models and the entire Gucci machine were tested immediately for an early corona. Along with the guests, everyone arrived at the scene through the thermometer.

Fashion icon Anna Wintour, pop star Rihanna and a lot of paparazzi were present. Runway did not see the top models known to everyone, but the table setting was reasonably fresh and a large part of the children of the 21st century.

Kauppinen admits that there was ramp fever in the air, even though he has been able to walk since he was less than two years old. But of course it was exciting, even if it wasn’t any Thai boxing competition.

– I had a big bag in my hand and it was not allowed to be waved, even though I had to walk normally. The gaze had to be kept downhill where the cameras were. The stage was slippery, which brought an additional challenge, Kauppinen describes.

In addition to the big bag, Kauppinen’s outfit included plush faux fur, showy glasses and green gloves from Adidas’ co-operation collection. Each model presented only one outfit in the show. Shutterstock, All Over Press

Kauppinen is a dream of every make-up artist: there is not much putting on the hair and the skin is in such good condition that it needs little make-up. The look of a wealthy gentleman is often styled for him, as in Gucci’s show.

There were a significant number of security guards on the premises of the world-bustling event. The international model catamaran was also well taken care of.

– It was a melting pot of cultures. We also talked a lot about the war, which started just the day before the show.
