‘Dive for Targets’, that is the name of the Unox Serious New Year’s Dive of motorcycle club De Antrappers from De Wijk. On Wednesday, January 1, fans of an icy splash can start the new year fresh. It is the twentieth time that the club organizes this dive on New Year’s afternoon.
What started as a joke in 2005 to start the anniversary year of De Antrappers with a fresh start has grown into an annual tradition. In recent years, IJhorst has also participated in this dive, during the ‘New Year’s Eve Party’ held by the Boys of the Tente.
At the start of the new year, diving for charities takes place again. The chosen goals from De Wijk are Our Children’s Theater (Willem Koopsweg) and the Zotte Zondag (family afternoon Faute Party). Diving takes place from IJhorst for the Geit&Wij animal pasture.
Sponsors
The intention is for the divers to be sponsored for a minimum of five euros, which will benefit charities. Fun dress-up parties are appreciated. The public present is encouraged to donate to the Geldwolves in the yellow vests or via a QR code. Everyone is welcome to participate, regardless of age. Both individual participation and participation on behalf of associations, foundations, clubs, groups of friends, and others are encouraged.
The New Year’s Dive takes place in the Reest near the bridge on the Julianaweg. The participants will gather at Café De Wiekslag in De Wijk or the Tente in IJhorst at 1:30 PM and at the Reest Bridge around 1:45 PM. The starting shot for the dive is at 2 p.m. After the dive, participants receive a hot snack and a souvenir in the club café (De Wiekslag) or the Tente, where there is also the opportunity to toast the new year while enjoying a drink. The New Year’s Dive is sponsored by UNOX and is a ‘Serious New Year’s Dive’.
