Antoinette Hertsenberg regrets offending Dionne Stax

Antoinette Hertsenberg regrets dismissing Dionne Stax as a kind of weak competitor. “I will never again make predictions about the ratings of others.”

Pride comes before the fall: Antoinette Hertsenberg spoke two months ago, just before Radar’s relegation to NPO 2, with some disdain about her new direct competitor Dionne Stax. “We will soon be sitting opposite ehhh, ehhhh, ehhhh, Dionne Stax with ehhh… Now I have lost the name for a moment. The Value Unknown, or something.”

Antoinette responds

Antoinette, of course, meant Dionne’s TV hit Van Onschatbare Waarde. “Yes that! It is something different from The Smartest Human. So it could also be that NPO 1 will soon have a lot of problems with Radar.”

Um, well, not exactly. A few nights later, Antoinette was completely crushed by Dionne: she attracted twice as many viewers as ehhh, ehhhh, ehhhh, what’s that program called? Oh yes, Radar! “It is a pity that viewers do not yet know how to find us on the second net,” the presenter now responds in the Weekend.

‘Dionne scores well’

Do the lower viewing figures of Radar mainly have to do with Dionne or with the relegation to NPO 2? “Dionne is also doing very well, that is beyond dispute, but it mainly has to do with changing channels.”

She continues: “The big difference came when we went to NPO 2. When we were on NPO 1, we had viewing figures in the same order of magnitude. So that’s why I think it depends on the channel.”

‘No, I’m not looking’

De Weekend continues to poke cunningly at Dionne’s name. “Do you ever watch Van Onschatbare Waarde, Dionne’s program?”

Antoinette: “No, because then I am broadcasting live. Not even via Uitzending Gemist, no. But I don’t watch a lot of programs again.”

De Weekend: “But you know that Dionne is doing very well.”

Antoinette: “Certainly in the ratings, and I also hear from people that they like the program.”

Regret

Then to the woman: “Do you regret your earlier comment at Jinek, where you said that Dionne had to be careful because Radar was opposed to her program?”

Antoinette, who previously received a slap on the wrist from Angela de Jong and Jan Slagter, agrees: “Yes. Look, we were as positive as possible about it. And I will never again make predictions about the ratings of other programs.”
