Antoinette Hertsenberg continues to score the tiles of the roof with her TV classic Radar. She spanks all competitors. “But why is she being demoted anyway?”
It was also hit yesterday: Radar really beat all competitors at prime time with more than 1.5 million viewers (26 percent market share). Antoinette Hertsenberg’s program attracted 58 (!) percent more viewers than the most viewed alternative, namely Chateau Meiland with 975 thousand viewers (17 percent) on SBS 6.
‘Why degradation?’
Yet the plan is to move Antoinette and her TV hit Radar from flagship NPO 1 to the much smaller NPO 2 next season, just like Kassa and Opsporing Verzocht. It is evident that all those programs will then attract considerably fewer viewers, because many people linger after the Achtuurjournaal on NPO 1.
Angela de Jong, the opinion diva of the AD, finds it incomprehensible. They points out that the program yesterday had another ‘stoneware’ item about plumbers scamming customers. Coffee time star Pernilla La Lau has also fallen victim.
‘That’s good for you!’
Those kinds of items are very relevant, Angela thinks. “Look, that is of some use to you as viewers. By the way, there were more than one and a half million, but I haven’t seen a cheering press release about the Best Consumer Program Ever Made,” she says, pointing to a roaring press release about some game show of the NPO.
She continues: “No, as a reward for 27 years of fighting for the public good, Radar will soon be downgraded from NPO 1 to NPO 2 to make way for entertainment.”
Disaster flight takes half past nine
The drama series Rampvlucht, which was shown immediately after Radar, was the winner at half past nine with 995 thousand viewers (20 percent). The most watched alternative at that time was Today Inside with 875 thousand viewers (19 percent) on SBS 6.
The other prime-time winners were Expedition Robinson with 759 thousand viewers (14 percent) on RTL 4, Hunted with 698 thousand viewers (12 percent) on NPO 3 and Nieuwsuur with 547 thousand viewers (11 percent) on NPO 2.
