While racing driver Anthony Kumpen (44) was in Italy, three burglars entered his villa in Hasselt on Tuesday evening. His wife Griet Vanhees (45) – who had heard ‘something’ and wanted to go and have a look – walked straight towards one of the perpetrators. Here Vanhees tells the whole story: “That burglar was clearly shocked by me.” Kumpen himself is also responding for the first time.
