Anrico Maat made Jumbo big in Groningen, Drenthe and Friesland with Paul Papo (Maripaan). Now he is moving to Jumbo nationwide

Anrico Maat exchanges the Maripaan Group for Jumbo. Maat becomes director of sales & operations at the supermarket chain.

Jumbo announced this on Monday.

Anrico Maat (50) founded the Maripaan Group in 2003 together with Paul Papo. In Groningen, Friesland and Drenthe, Maripaan has grown into an important player in the supermarket world.

Boys from the Jumbo

Franchise holder of 18 Jumbo supermarkets in the North Maripan. Maat and Papo were often referred to as ‘the Jumbo boys’. At Jumbo’s head office in Veghel, Maat succeeds Cees van Vliet. Van Vliet leaves Jumbo.

Maat is described in a statement by Jumbo as a decisive entrepreneur who has a nose for the needs and wishes of customers.

Maat wants to take that customer focus to Veghel, he says. “We want to make a difference in the lives of our customers. I will take that mentality with me to Veghel.”
