Singer Anouk married her beloved basketball coach Dominique Schemmekes on Saturday evening during her concert at the Malieveld in The Hague. About 40,000 people attended the concert, and with it the wedding.
“Thank you, good evening everyone”, said the singer after the applause she received after singing her first song. “Welcome. Thank you for being here on this rather special evening. I’m going to tell you honestly: I’m terribly nervous for everything that’s to come,” she confessed. The 47-year-old artist then thanked those present again for coming.
Anouk decided to get married during her concert because Schemmekes wanted a big wedding. “It can’t get any bigger than this,” the singer said earlier. The municipality of The Hague had given the singer permission for her wedding. The Malieveld is therefore a one-off wedding location.
During the interlude of the show, a large arch of white roses was set on the stage. Among them appeared 28-year-old Schemmekes. The American singer Michelle David played the wedding couple’s favorite song, after which Anouk also took the stage. She wore a white dress and a long white veil.
All six children of Anouk were present at the wedding. Like the couple, they were all dressed in white. Anouk had asked the audience in advance to dress festively. She had announced on Instagram that people could make a donation as a wedding gift to Triple ThreaT, an organization that is committed to young people.
