Muscle injury
Patrik Schick from Bayer Leverkusen, who has only just regained his fitness, has suffered a setback. The striker is expected to be unavailable for three weeks due to a muscle injury in his left calf, as the current Bundesliga leaders announced shortly before the second round game in the DFB Cup at SV Sandhausen on Wednesday.
Schick underwent an MRI scan after training and did not travel to the away game. There is talk that Schick could return to the squad for the duel with Werder Bremen on matchday 12. In that case he would miss the league games against Hoffenheim and Union Berlin as well as the Europa League game against Qarabag. The 27-year-old has only played twice this season due to an adductor injury.
