Today is the fourth time that a military transport plane has picked up Dutch travelers stranded in Israel. The Airbus A330 Multirole Tanker Tansport (MRTT) has just taken off from Eindhoven Air Base towards Tel Aviv. This aircraft is expected to return to the Netherlands later this evening.
Hundreds of Dutch people have been collected in this way in recent days. The people on board have registered with the Foreign Affairs Information Service. The repatriation is being carried out as a result of the conflict, which broke out last Saturday.
Multi-purpose device
The aircraft is an Airbus A330 of the Multinational Multirole Tanker Transport (MRTT) Unit that is stationed at Eindhoven Air Base. Such a device is usually used to refuel other aircraft in the air. But it can also transport people and freight.
