Another woman has been assaulted in Alkmaar by a cyclist. She was touched on her buttocks. It happened last week, one day after the publication of interviews of the vice squad with media. The team leader said in conversation with NH News that he suspects that there are several perpetrators. “They give Alkmaarders a sense of insecurity.”
It is February 10 when a woman cycles around 6 p.m. on the Molentochtpad, the cycle path in Daalmeer that runs from Laan van Bath to Geestmerambacht. Suddenly she is touched from behind and assaulted.
“The perpetrator was wearing a dark blue coat and drove off in a northerly direction,” police said. Near the Ringslootpad, near a child center, the victim loses sight of the perpetrator.
She is the thirteenth victim since July last year. In addition to women and a girl, a man also fell prey earlier. Because the descriptions of perpetrators differ – on a bicycle, on a moped, one person, by two people – the research team suspects that several perpetrators are active.
The map below shows where previous assaults were in 2022 and early 2023.
Police are still looking for witnesses to last week’s assault.
