After just a few months there is another change in management at Berlin’s KaDeWe.
Oliver Kramny will take over the management of KaDeWe in Berlin on April 1st, the KaDeWe Group announced on Wednesday. The designated department store boss succeeds Alexandra Bagehorn, who only took on the role of general manager of the Berlin luxury department store in December. Previously, she was the manager of the Alsterhaus for almost three years. Bagehorn is returning to the center of her life and family in Hamburg for personal reasons.
Your successor will come from within your own ranks. Kramny joined the KaDeWe Group in 2020 as Head of Sales with overall responsibility for the “Die Sechste” food floor, before taking over purchasing in the food area two years later as Senior Head of Food & Business Development. In the future, Kramny will report directly to Chief Retail Officer Timo Weber.
Charlotte Schauss is following in Kramny’s footsteps. She will take over purchasing management for the food division on April 1st. Like Kramny, Schauss comes from our own ranks and has been working for the KaDeWe Group since 2020, most recently as Project Manager in the purchasing team for the food sector. In her role, Schauss was also responsible for project management strategy, marketing and product selection in the realignment of KaDeWe’s own brand, according to the statement.

The past few months have been marked by turbulence and leadership changes within the KaDeWe Group. Last March, the then CEO of the Kadewe Group, André Maeder, was appointed Managing Director of the Luxury Department Store Group before moving to the Selfridges Group in London in October. The change in turn led to a restructuring of the management of the KaDeWe Group, which was expanded into a trio. Since November, the management of the group with the luxury department stores KaDeWe, Oberpollinger and Alsterhaus has consisted of CFO Michael Peterseim as CEO (acting), Timo Weber as Chief Retail Officer (CRO) and Simone Heift as Chief Merchandising Officer (CMO).
In addition, the luxury department store group filed for bankruptcy at the end of January, just a few weeks after the company network around Signa Retail, which was part of the group, went into trouble.
