Another accident near the Vier Koningen intersection in Wijtschate
The accident happened around 11am this morning. A white Citroën Berlingo van drove on Komenstraat in the direction of Mesen. The car came from the Vier Koningen intersection, where a fatal collision between a truck and a van took place on July 11.
Slippery road
The driver, a 28-year-old man from Komen-Warneton, lost control of his car in a bend. The road surface was slippery from a rain shower. The vehicle crashed into a tree on the right side of the road.
Firefighters freed the trapped driver. The man remained conscious throughout and was taken to hospital by ambulance. According to police zone Arro Ypres, he was not seriously injured.

Due to the accident, the Komenstraat was closed to traffic for a while.
