Anniek Pheifer loses Smartest Human by 2 seconds. ‘Family in Assen threw shoes at TV’

Actress Anniek Pheifer, originally from Assen, was again Smartest Person of the Day on Thursday, but had to beat poet Martin Rombouts by just two seconds in the final on Friday.

Anniek Pheifer, known for films like Costa , I Love You Too and television series West wind and Grijpstra & De Gier competed against biologist Mátyás Bittenbinder and poet Martin Rombouts in the last episode of De Slimste Mens of this season.

Her family always knows better, says presenter Philip Freriks at the start of the broadcast and if Anniek misses an answer, they throw shoes at the TV. They did that on Friday night.

Martin Rombouts is already introduced as the clear winner by Freriks: he is first in the standings. But the entire broadcast is tense between the poet and Anniek.

During a previous broadcast, Anniek often “let the word KUT slip”, says Freriks. “Is that a safeword of yours?” Not really, says Anniek, but it can sometimes escape her if something doesn’t work out. No problem, Maarten van Rossem reassures her. “Isn’t that word already established for a long time? With us it used to be on fences, now decent ladies say it in TV programs”.

‘Heerlie de pearlie’

On to the first round.

Anniek doesn’t know what saposexual people like and she doesn’t know the student expression ‘heerlie de peerlie’. Not bad either, says Van Rossem. “I didn’t have a high opinion of students and this didn’t make things any better.”

Anniek has never heard of an emoji baby, but then gives two correct answers and is therefore in the lead with 80 seconds, and after a question about aioli with 130 seconds.

But after the third round, the puzzle, Martin is number one.

Claying the Cold War

Anniek knows four good answers from the photo gallery.

She is claying the cold war, she tells Freriks in between. She is going to Berlin with her children and therefore thought it would be so much fun to make a stop-motion film ‘of that period’. Including Iron Curtain, but because it is a lot of work, she might just make it ‘out of barbed wire’.

In the decisive round, ‘the collective memory’, it is determined who loses weight. That will be Matyás. Anniek is in the lead with 278 seconds, but Martin is close behind.

chicory

In the last round, Anniek knows two of the five facts about activist group Just Stop Oil and two about Heidi Klum. She knows more about chicory, but with 98 seconds she is ‘in the danger zone’, says Freriks.

She only knows about DI-RECT that it is a boy band is from Great Britain.

Freriks: ,,Only 43 seconds left: it’s getting tight now, I’ll say”.

After questions about Bangladesh, about which Anniek knows many facts, she and Martin are very close to each other: she has 32 and Martin 34 seconds. They only need two more correct answers each, but Martin can start. He knows that a cheetah, also known as a cheetah, is the fastest animal on land… and he wins.
