It is said that Wessman died suddenly of an illness on October 19, 2023 in Helsinki. Wessman will be missed by his immediate family, friends and many colleagues. Wessmann had no children.
Wessman accomplished many things during his career. He was, among other things, involved in the Rakkautat & Anarkiaa film festival and its professional event Finnish Film Affair.
During the last two years, he worked as a marketing director at film equipment rental company Valofirma. He was widely respected in the film industry, and he was a key figure in bringing important international film and TV productions to Finland.
