Anni Vuohijoki’s calculated time is in June.
Ex-weightlifter and doctor Anni Vuohijoki ended her career as a professional athlete in April 2023. Last summer he enjoyed life, drank wine and relaxed, and in the fall he took part in what was named the toughest competition in Finnish TV history Special forcesprogram.
Vuohijoki tells Iltalehte Special forces– at the program’s press conference, that he immediately made a conscious decision that he is not going to train for the program.
– After the program, exercise remained in my life again, when I got the initial push into the world of exercise. I noticed that the most comfortable thing for me is to sweat properly and now I train twice a day. It was nice to get exercise back into my life, after all summer I just lay around and drank wine, Vuohijoki describes.

Vuohijoki is currently expecting her first child. The calculated time is in June. Vuohijoki’s physical condition has been good throughout the pregnancy, but she has had to struggle mentally with various things.
– I have had to think about the fact that the sports self is now changing into something else. In the future, my well-being will be determined by someone other than me. It has been getting used to that and listening to the body. Fortunately, I have been at peace in Lapland, so there has been no other stress or pressure in life.
Motherhood makes me think
Vuohijoki had understood that if she wanted children, she had to make her dreams come true soon. He turns 36 in May.
– I thought until the 12th week of pregnancy that this was a mistake. I was just wondering if this is for me. So there has been a battle inside the head and there is still at this moment.
– No one knows what kind of mother you will be until you actually are a mother. This is a really nice 18-year project that I’m looking forward to a lot and I’m excited.
Vuohijoki has written a diary since the first steps of her pregnancy, the contents of which she plans to later share with people.

Earlier Vuohijoki told on their social media accounts, that she will have a child as an “independent woman”, and she will not necessarily offer her future child the most traditional nuclear family model. However, she has a close support network around her that provides the baby with a huge amount of attention and love.
– This is my father and mother’s first biological grandchild. We do have grandchildren, but this is the first biological one. This is a really big deal.
Life in Lapland
Vuohijoki currently lives in Ivalo, where he works as a doctor. His everyday life revolves around precise routines and a simple lifestyle.
– My friend recently said that you have a boring life, but I don’t think it’s boring, but this is exactly what I needed at this moment in my life.
Vuohijoki will specialize in physiatry in the future. For a long time, Vuohijoki feels that his vision of life has become clearer.
– It’s hard to say how the child fits into my thoughts, it depends on his health and character. However, I wish that he would jump into my life sooner, and I wouldn’t have to build a life around him, Vuohijoki describes.
Vuohijoki has not yet acquired any special accessories for her child.
– I haven’t done anything about it, I’ve only been playing sports, skiing and going to work. I have opened an investment fund, but that’s all, Vuohijoki laughs.
