It was a true fairytale ending of Farmer seeks Woman this season: Farmer Hans who found the love of his life in Anette. But where the whole of Brabant only saw the denouement last Sunday, Hans and Anette had in reality been keeping their happiness a secret for months. And so weekend after weekend she drove to Hans’ farm in disguise.
After every nice weekend with Hans on his farm in Strijbeek, Annette had to keep her lips together. “I couldn’t tell anyone where I had been. It has certainly been worth it, but I’m so happy that I can finally hold it and that we can cycle together. Great! Everything is allowed.”
The months of hiding and disguising are finally over for Annette, the great love of horse breeder Hans. Their participation in Farmer Searches Woman has made the two very happy. “That this is still possible, at seventy!,” says a laughing Hans. But they had to get pretty creative for it over the past few months.
Parking between the straw
“We have been little and mainly stayed on the farm,” says Hans. “She knew where to park: in the shed, between the tractors. Afterwards, even in the straw shed. That was even better,” he grins. “Yes, then my car would be even more hidden.”
In the beginning I arrived here in the dark on Friday evening and I left again on Monday morning,” says Annette. “But at a certain point it became lighter of course. Then I put on a mask and a hat. I even bought a blonde wig. We’ve been through some really hilarious things.”
“Oh, oh, oh!”
The lovebirds look back on a beautiful time. Hans summarizes it in his Brabants: “Look, if they give you up, you’ll be up all night. Dan thought: ‘Wow!’ And then someone called and thought completely ‘Oops!’. And then they come to film this time and that’s it ‘Oeioeiiii†
But now, months later, horse breeder Hans is delighted with his participation. “I’m very happy. I have a very nice wife,” he says, after which he gives Annette a big kiss.
