AnnenMayKantereit live in Cologne: impending traffic chaos

It will be the crowning conclusion of AnnenMayKantereit’s tour. The German indie band returns to their hometown of Cologne on September 9th after twelve concerts to play the last show of their tour at the Rhein-Energie-Stadion. The tickets have been completely sold out since the beginning of the year.

The Cologne sports facilities expect not only Cologne residents, but also a national audience. Since, apart from the concert in the football stadium, the American band Blink-182 is performing in the Lanxess Arena and on Saturday the Cologne summer festival “Jeck im Sunnesching” is attracting Cologne residents to every bar and park, the sports venue warns of “significant traffic volumes “. Plus the outstanding weather. We particularly recommend arriving early.

Arrival by public transport

The concert tickets are valid as public transport tickets for the Cologne transport company and in the neighboring VRS network area, which is why traveling by bus and train is recommended. The KVB is running special trains on line 1, which will take concertgoers directly to the Rhein-Energie-Stadion and back to Cologne city center.

Coming from the south, you can also take tram line 7, which goes to the “Stüttgenhof” stop. From there you can reach the stadium on foot.

Time

Admission begins at 5 p.m. Two hours later, the audience can expect the support band Friedberg until AnnenMayKantereit is expected to be on stage herself at 8:30 p.m. The end of the concert is scheduled for 10:30 p.m.

Additional hint

On September 9th there will be a ban on glass bottles and alcohol (outside of catering areas) in the large area around the stadium. The Cologne city public order office has now announced this. Strong controls are planned on the day of the event, with fines being levied if necessary.
