Anne Ananias received a royal distinction for her commitment to Roder society

Anne Frederik Ananias was surprised this afternoon with a royal award. Mayor Klaas Smid was present to pin on the ribbon of honor at the Brink in Roden.

Ananias received the award because of his years of dedication to Roden. This goes back to the end of the last century, when he started as a jury member of the Rodermarktparade and continued in this position until 2018. In that role, Ananias attended meetings with the organization and the construction groups and visited all construction locations during the construction of the floats.

On the day of the parade he judged and worked with the other judges towards the result. He was also involved in the organization of the party evening after the parade for those involved.

From 2011, Ananias was active for the Roon Historical Association, first as treasurer and since 2019 as committed and passionate chairman. He is also committed to Roden and Drenthe culture and regional language and the commemoration of the Second World War and the liberation in Roden during Roder afternoons and evenings.

Finally, Ananias was treasurer at the Mensinghe Ruiters Riding and Driving Association from 2007 to 2016.
