«I get up around 8, without an alarm clock, and – after scrolling through the emails – I drink a coffee. No breakfast, I practice intermittent fasting (16 hours without food, ed): it’s not a sacrifice, I feel more energetic and lucid. After ten minutes of “recollection” – as if I were asking myself: “How are you, really?” – I tidy up the house a bit (I need order), not forgetting to change the water for the microgreens I grow in jars (they contain more bioactive substances than vegetables), and continue with a half hour workout: I alternate the exercises of the Five Tibetans at the lessons on YouTube (the channels are excellent Fitbymik And Lazy Dancer Tips)”.

11 o’clock

«I leave the house to catch up Columbia University, where I teach “direction of actors” to students of the master’s degree: I expect an hour by subway, living in Greenwich Village. If, on the other hand, I have class at the New York Film Academy (there I follow aspiring interpreters), I take it easier: it’s not far from home. Ours is a “delicate” task: we have to stimulate the kids to be authentic, free from social or family conditioning, and therefore acting inevitably touches their emotional sphere. The “tools” we give are not only technical but for life: as Stanislavskij said, “The human being that you are is more talented than an actor”».

“It’s time for lunch. Oat flakes in coconut or almond milk with turmeric root, ginger, nigella sativa seeds, banana or blueberries, black pepper or chili. A strange mix, I know, but I choose foods that strengthen the immune system and fight inflammation ».

«Before eating, a few minutes of meditation about gratitude. At dinner there is never a shortage of vegetables (I buy them at the 0 km market in Union Square), to which I add my microgreens plus a protein (lentils, fish, seitan, parmesan). I finish with nuts and 95 percent dark chocolate. At that point, I watch a film or a series or listen to audio books: I love, among others, those of the Jungian psychoanalyst James Hollis. When I go out with friends, my favorite destination is Broadway: I just saw the musical Kimberly Akimbo, with Victoria Clark. I go to sleep at midnight. No, no rituals: I like listening to the silence».
