Anna Favella: «On the set of “Incastrati 2” I learned to enjoy the moment»

«Chon Ficarra and Picone we had so much fun on the set that in the end I really perceived them as Valentino, my big brother, and Salvo, my husband» says Anna Favella, 39, in the cast of the new series stuck, on Netflix from March 2nd.

The Roman actress, who rose to popularity thanks to One hundred showcases on Channel 5, A doctor in the family 10 on Rai and, above all, Louis Miguel – The series that made her known to international audiences, returns to act alongside the lucky duo.

The new episodes will find Salvo Ficarra and Valentino Picone both behind and in front of the camera, as directors, screenwriters and actors. Anna Favella will still be Ester, Salvo’s wife, a lover of natural life, healthy eating and yoga.

The plot

The second season of Get stuck begins where the first ended: Salvo and Valentino are in danger of life. Our two “heroes” find themselves, again, framed and trapped in a series of events within which it is difficult to extricate themselves without hurting the feelings of the people they love.

To complicate things an endless sequence of twists and turns and novelties including a double homicide behind which a mysterious man is hiding, the entry of foreign criminals on the scene, the complex investigations into the “Gambino murder case” that do not find solutions, the increasingly stormy relationship between Salvo, Valentino and their respective companions.

Anna Favella again with Ficarra and Picone.
Yes, I was happy with it. There was excitement on set this time. When we shot the first season we were all a bit bruised by the pandemic, the lockdown and then the restrictions. This time we found ourselves more serene and relaxed. This new series is even more beautiful than the first, but let’s remain superstitious. There’s always that mix of adrenaline and fear when a new product comes along, it’s always a gamble. But I’m satisfied. We have become a family.

Is there an evolution in Esther’s character?
Yes, absolutely, but I don’t want to take away the surprise of seeing me in action. Let’s say that when the characters grow, there is always challenge and enrichment behind them. I learned a lot on set.

What did he learn in particular?
I started loving imperfections.

Meaning what?
I’m a nerd. I always like to present myself to the best of my ability. But until today it has always been a race against time. On the set, I learned to change my point of view on things and people. Beauty is also enjoying the moment for what it is. I have become softer towards myself. I expect less, I welcome everything with a smile. Lightness is not superficiality, but a form of intelligence.

Anna Favella: «In reality I’m naïve like Salvo»

Would you ever fall in love with a guy like Salvo, your “marituzzo”?
I’m actually like him, but in a female version. I don’t even remember my birthday, I love celebrating other people’s more. I am completely different from my character Ester, always attentive to shapes and occasions. In the first season, she and Salvo live in parallel worlds. In this second series Ester gets involved in a flirt. Perfect for perfect, she too needs attention. Playing her taught me to understand that there are mistakes and imperfections. And that perfect love doesn’t exist. You can’t change things, but you can laugh about it, right?

Certain. It seems that Ficarra and Picone have transformed it.
Charlie Chaplin said that a day without laughter is a lost day! I tell an anecdote. On the set I had to shoot a scene where I call. They clapped me and there was a very strong wind. My hair ends up in my mouth, I tried to be serious and focused, but at one point we all burst out laughing. It was the baptism.

How did she prepare with the Sicilian accent?
But I am Sicilian! My mother was from Pozzallo, in the province of Ragusa. I spent more time in Sicily and with Sicilian relatives than with others. Even though I wasn’t born there, I grew up there. I am permeated by it.
