An 81-year-old man from Waalwijk assaulted an elderly woman in Tilburg on Friday morning. He threw her into the bushes, among other things. According to the police, he was very angry because the woman had used a parking space that he also had in mind.
A witness had meanwhile taken his car keys, allowing the police to arrest him. The woman was very shaken and suffered minor injuries, police said.

The woman drove her car onto Wagnerplein around eleven o’clock on Friday morning. She wanted to park the car there, but she couldn’t immediately because it was busy. Suddenly she noticed that a car was leaving a parking space. She drove towards it, although she also saw that a car was waiting on the other side of the street.
When she parked her car and got out, a man approached, clearly furious. The woman had stolen ‘his’ parking space, he shouted. According to the police, the woman only then realized that the man who was so angry was waiting just before that.
Woman beaten and lifted
Before she could explain, he slapped her chest and shoulders. She was also lifted and thrown into the bushes.
The man then walked back to his car and wanted to drive away. Someone who saw it all happen had meanwhile taken the car keys from that man. The police were called and they arrested the 81-year-old man from Waalwijk for assault.
