Fatal fishing accident on the Havel near Briest (Potsdam-Mittelmark).
A 72-year-old fished on Tuesday on the banks of the Havel near the Schwarzer Weg. When trying to free the tangled line of the fishing rod, the fatal mishap occurs.
According to police, the angler fell into the water and lost consciousness.
A short time later, the person was pulled lifeless from the water by witnesses. Despite the emergency services being alerted and immediate resuscitation measures, the man died on the spot. The police are now investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
