The Spaniard joins another club from the Bundesliga. From there, a national player recently went the opposite way.
Full-back Angeliño has been loaned out by RB Leipzig to Bundesliga rivals TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and is set to replace international player David Raum. The 25-year-old Spaniard will switch from Saxony to league rivals from Kraichgau by the end of the season, as both clubs announced on Monday.
“The fact that a player in this category consciously and with full conviction chooses TSG, even though he can actually choose his league and club category in his current situation, is something special and shows how important we have become,” said Sports director Alexander Rosen in the club announcement. Under coach André Breitenreiter, Angeliño now has to face a direct duel with the Dane Robert Skov at Hoffenheim. Skov scored a goal directly in the 3-1 draw in Gladbach on Saturday.
The change had recently become apparent. Angeliño no longer had a great future with the Champions League participants because Leipzig signed space before the start of the league season and had a contract until June 2027. Borussia Dortmund and FC Bayern are also said to have been interested in space.
