This development follows Jolie’s calls for an “immediate ceasefire” in Gaza.
Actor Jon Voight has publicly criticized his daughter Angelina Jolie, accusing her of spreading “lies” about the Israel-Hamas conflict. This development follows Jolie’s call for an “immediate ceasefire.”
In response to Jolie’s statements, her father posted a video on X in front of the American flag on November 4th, in which he expressed his disappointment with his daughter’s views on the conflict. He titled the clip “Truth and Lies”.
Angelina Jolie condemns Israel on Instagram
On October 28, Jolie shared a post on Instagram condemning the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7. Jolie said this attack could not justify “the innocent lives lost by bombing a civilian population in Gaza with no way out” and called for a ceasefire.
In another post on November 2, the actress accused Israel of deliberately bombing a “captive population” that is “withholding food, medicine and humanitarian aid” in violation of international law. “By refusing to call for a humanitarian ceasefire and preventing the UN Security Council from imposing it on both sides, world leaders are complicit in these crimes,” she added.
Father Jon Voight sees it differently
“I am very disappointed that my daughter, like so many others, does not understand the honor of God,” Voight then said in his video. “The Truth of God. It’s about destroying the history of God’s land, the holy land, the land of the Jews. This is justice for God’s children in the Holy Land. The Israeli army must protect its land and its people. This is war. It won’t be as civil as the left thinks. Israel has been attacked by inhumane terror against innocent babies, mothers, fathers and grandparents. And you fools who declare Israel a problem should look at yourselves and ask yourself, ‘Who am I? What am I?’ And asks God if I learn the truth or if I am told lies and follow everyone else? For, my friends, those who understand the truth see the lie.”
In December 2022, Angelina Jolie resigned as ambassador to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) after over 20 years, stating that she wanted to work “directly with refugees and local organizations.” In the announcement, Jolie said: “Refugees are the people I admire most, and I am dedicating myself to their work for the rest of my life. I will now work with organizations that are led by the people directly affected by the conflict and give them the greatest voice.”
