Angela de Jong thinks it is outrageous that Eddy Zoëy is trying to discredit the candidates of B&B Vol Liefde at the desk of RTL Boulevard. “They’re completely off that.”
It remains a complicated position in which RTL Boulevard and Shownieuws find themselves. They themselves undoubtedly think that they conduct independent journalism, but it is evident that both programs also represent the interests of the channels on which they are broadcast. According to Angela de Jong, that was also the case yesterday.

RTL Boulevard had a remarkable item about the complaining stars of B&B Vol Liefde. The presenter on duty, Eddy Zoëy, sees them mainly as ‘terrorists’ who try to blacken the most important summer hit of RTL 4. Where does that come from? Boulevard and B&B Vol Liefde not only share the same channel, but also the same producer: Blue Circle.
Angela de Jong finds it very bad of Eddy, all the more so because one of the candidates reported transgressive behaviour. That should of course be taken a little more seriously in 2022 than Eddy is doing now. ‘Boulevard is back to square one’, is the headline of Angela’s column today in Dutch AD.

According to Angela, it is clear that Eddy has been used to save the image of the program, the channel and the producer. She calls him a ‘heel licker’. “A complaining participant of an RTL program is equivalent to a terrorist for RTL Boulevard. You just have to dare. It would be almost comical if it weren’t so sad.”
The opinion diva thinks it is ‘significant’ for the state of affairs in sections such as Boulevard and Shownieuws, ‘which are nothing more or less than the uncritical extension of the channel they work for’.

Angela had expected more from Boulevard. “Just to be sure, I checked whether I was not accidentally watching Shownieuws, because the pull dolls are no different there.”
And RTL Boulevard indicated that they have learned from protecting their colleague Humberto Tan. For a long time they were the only show medium that didn’t report very flashy about his affair with Dionne Stax. “Well, not. They are back to square one,” Angela said.
