Angela de Jong hits back at Peter Pannekoek, who made a big joke about her as presenter of the Televizier gala. “Well, that gut felt good!”
Jan Smit and Peter Pannekoek opened the Golden Televizier-Ring Gala on Thursday evening with a witty item, in which they appeared in all kinds of TV sets, for example in that of Op1. “Hey, I don’t recognize this program,” Jan says as the two appear in a rather red, organic, cave-like scene.
Underbelly
Peter then gives his colleague some clarity. “This is not a program. This is the underbelly of Angela de Jong! I feel it. She’s in a taxi again on the way to a talk show to talk about tonight!”
When they appear again a little later in the same setting, Jan shouts: “What?! In Angela de Jong’s abdomen again?”
Peter: “No, hear that screaming and see that blood! This is Peter Gillis’s love nest!”
Angela responds
What does Angela think of Peter portraying her as someone who lets her gut talk? She hits back at the comedian in her infamous AD column, but starts sporty: “My own gut (…) and really everyone had to pay the price. And that really brightened up the TV party.”
Peter’s jokes were successful, Angela thinks. Especially the one about the infected Römer media family. “Even better was that the director of the Gala knew perfectly who to portray during that joke. And so the TV viewer was treated to a grinning Victor Reinier.”
Small sneer
Angela concludes with a small sneer at Peter. “The fact that the makers of Oogappels were ultimately allowed to put the ring on their finger and not the badly promoted B&B Vol Liefde (I noticed that in recent days I almost hated the ubiquitous Debbie and Olof on RTL 4) was the crowning achievement of a perfect evening.”
She concludes: “Angela de Jong’s gut felt it right. Well, you again, Petertje Pannekoek.”
