Viewing figure gun André van Duin has, through his good friend Evert Santegoeds, in The Telegraph announced that he had filed a report for blackmail. According to his lawyers Geert-Jan and Carry Knoops, the presenter is falsely accused by a person and blackmailed into paying a sum of money. They don’t say what it’s about.

‘Something very intense’

It leads to speculation. Patty Brard asks in Show news wondering what’s going on. “I find it very intense. We don’t know exactly what this is all about. We really tried to call everyone. From the manager to I know a lot who in his environment and nobody wants to say anything about it.”

Colleague Bart Ettekoven: “It must be something very intense, because otherwise you would not immediately go to the police and file a report.”

Presenter Airen Mylene: “We know very little about this, but then the thought will take you for a walk, because if you are blackmailed and you report it, then there must be something to blackmail.”

At right angles to each other

Patty thinks it’s a strange situation. “I think the report and the false accusation are a bit at odds with each other. If you report blackmail, you actually admit that there is something, but I am speculating here and I really do not want that at all.”

Anouk Smulders: “Of course everyone will do that. Are there images? Is something wrong with his partner? Is there something wrong with his dead husband?”

Patty: “Yes, but if you say there is a false accusation, why are you reporting it? Are you only doing that for blackmail?”

‘Success with it!’

Ronald Molendijk also thinks it’s crazy. “Simply put, you could say that if someone says, ‘I’m going to blackmail you, because I have pictures of you’, and those pictures aren’t there, you can also just say, ‘Good luck with that.’ That’s kind of the feeling you mean.”

Patty: “When it comes to a story, it may also be that André has come up with: I want to deal the first blow myself by immediately making it public instead of the party that is blackmailing him perhaps putting it down with a juice channel or on the phone with us. Then you are actually already 1-0 behind and now he is 1-0 ahead.”

Bart: “There are a number of people who say: could it have something to do with his partner, that Fernando?”

Anouk: “The fact is of course that it is really intense, because otherwise you wouldn’t make such a step, I think.”

Frank stunned

Frank Dane responds RTL Boulevard with bewilderment. “I can hardly believe that you can blackmail André van Duin, right? The sweetest man in the Netherlands.”

Colleague Rob Goossens: “That was also my first reaction, so I was also very happy to read that they also say that it is a false accusation, so it is not something that he carries with him a certain big secret and that threatens to come out. You hope it’s something light-hearted.”

And lawyer Clarice Stenger: “It is apparently so serious that it made him decide to hire a lawyer and they advised him to go to the police. So I think it will be something serious.”
